Postpartum wellbeing check-in — free, private, takes 2 minutes

Everyone asks about the baby. Nobody asks about you. You answer "we're doing fine" on autopilot, because there's no space in the conversation for the rest of it — the 3am worry, the flatness that arrives at the wrong moment, the recovery that's taking longer than anyone warned you. None of that makes you ungrateful, and none of it makes you a bad parent. Take two private minutes that are only about you.

Free and private · your answers are never sold or shown to advertisers. This is a reflective check-in, not a diagnosis.

If you feel you or your baby may be in immediate danger, please call 112 now, or Tele-MANAS on 14416 for free 24×7 mental-health support. Please don't wait for a check-in to finish.

What is a postpartum wellbeing check-in?

A postpartum wellbeing check-in is a short, structured set of reflective questions about how you have been in the weeks after childbirth — mood, worry, sleep, physical recovery, connection with the people around you, how much support you actually have, and how manageable ordinary days feel. It gives you an honest picture in plain language. It is not a diagnosis of postpartum depression or any other condition, it is not a validated clinical instrument, and it does not replace assessment by a qualified professional.

Frequently asked questions

Can this check-in tell me if I have postpartum depression?

No, and it will not try. It cannot diagnose or exclude postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, postpartum psychosis or anything else. It gives you a plain, non-diagnostic picture of how the past two weeks have actually felt — mood, sleep, recovery, support and daily life — so that if you do decide to talk to someone, you are not starting from "I don't know, I'm just tired".

Is this the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale?

No. This is an original reflective check-in, not the EPDS and not any other validated instrument. It does not reproduce validated items or clinical score bands, and its result is not a clinical score. A qualified professional may use a validated tool as part of a proper assessment.

Is it normal to feel like this after having a baby?

Feeling low, anxious, overwhelmed or disconnected after birth is far more common than most people are ever told, and it is not a sign of weak character or poor parenting. It is also treatable, and people who reach out early usually say they wish they had done it sooner. Common does not mean you have to carry it alone.

What if I have frightening thoughts about my baby being harmed?

Please answer honestly if the check-in asks. Intrusive, unwanted thoughts of this kind are more common after birth than people expect and they do not make you a bad parent — but they are worth talking about with someone qualified, and Nily will show you support options straight away rather than at the end. If you feel you or your baby may be in immediate danger, call 112 now.

Will anyone be told what I answered?

No. Your answers produce a result for you. Answers about your mood, your recovery and your family are never sold, sent to advertisers or used to build a marketing profile, and no one is notified because of a result.

How soon after birth can I use this?

Whenever it feels relevant to you — there is no window you have to be inside. Feelings change week to week in the months after birth, so a check-in that reflects one hard fortnight is a snapshot, not a permanent label, and it is fine to come back to it later.

If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, call 112 now or go to the nearest emergency department. For free 24×7 mental-health support, call Tele-MANAS at 14416 or 1-800-891-4416. Nily is not a crisis service.

Distress after childbirth is common and treatable, and asking for help early is the ordinary thing to do — not a last resort. Never start, stop or change any medicine based on this tool or any website content, and if you are breastfeeding, any medicine question belongs with a qualified professional who knows your situation.
